Help: Checking a file before you file it
Validation rules
Runs a filing's validation rules on one table of your file, exactly as the upload runs them (the same code), and lists every finding by rule, rejects first. Nothing you upload here is kept.
Check against the rules in force, or any other published version, such as rules that take effect later. Claims are checked with the claim year as the filing year; budget filings year by year, each year as its own filing.
The upload also runs the checks that need the whole filing (its other tables, earlier confirmations, eTRM's values for deemed claims), so a file that passes here can still get findings on upload.
The same check is offered through the API (POST /api/v1/rules/check, with an API token), and each rule set can be downloaded as JSON with how each rule is checked, for systems that check files without sending them.
How to
- Choose the rules, the table and the file, then Check. Check and download every finding (CSV) gives each finding's line, record, field and how to fix it.
- Other ways to check lists the API, the JSON download and ReCET's preflight.
A tour of the page
On the page, the (?) beside the heading opens this help, and Take a tour of this page shows these steps one at a time beside the part of the page each describes. Some steps are only for parts that some people see, or that only some pages of this kind have.
